first and most important (of course) us!
To correspond or just tell us you're out there and sign up to our events news-mail (giving you first bite of the cherry when it comes to grabbing invites etc.) mail us at info@thatamazingthing.com
and for more self-promotion here's some nice stuff from the media
If you want to get a feel for our flavour check the BBC Radio 1 documentary Party Hard which features us in passing
.....or you could visit young upstart Manchester journo Jon Freer's site and read reviews of two of our nights www.mosoul.co.uk
shops
We buy lots of music.  Too much.  But if you have to feed that vinyl addiction let us recommend Piccadilly Records if you're in or near Manchester UK, plus (like most shops here), they have an excellent mail order / online side.  Further down the country we'd go for Vinyl Underground, North of the border Rub A Dub in Glasgow (site soon).  In Europe 2 really nice shops for house and techno are Hardwax in Berlin and Rush Hour in Amsterdam.  On the other side of the pond we like Submerge
other Manchester nights
OK so "once in a blue moon" can be an understatement for our nights - we prefer quality to quantity.  So if you're in Manchester, looking for fun and we aren't helping you could do worse than visit one of Electriks' nights, Best Foot Forward, Roots Before Branches or Eyes Down

lovely friends
Over the last 7 years we have enjoyed help and support from one of the UK's finest independent record stores: Piccadilly Records of Oldham St. Manchester www.piccadillyrecords.com
Someone else who's been close throughout is Andi Chapple, he's spun for us, designed some of our posters (check out some of designs in our artwork section) and generally been a mate. He has a site www.music.freakout.biz which covers most of his projects plus at the moment he has one of those new fangled blog things with mixes on it eclecticdjs.blogspot.com
In 2005 we hooked up with a crew not unlike ourselves but operating out of Eastern Europe. They have all sorts of things going on - nights Eclectica, record labels Red Salamanda, they're busy boys.  All their stuff is cool, we certainly had a blast with them both out in the Czech Republic and hosting them in the UK.  If you find yourself in Prague or even close give them a shout.
For gigs even further afield we had the best fun in Sao Paulo, Brasil.  Check Dinamica's site www.dinamicas.art.br to catch some good action out there.
just quirky
Sites picked at random which epitomise oddness we can only aspire to - Grey Squirrel's Page of Silliness, Rolph, the German Speaking Girrafe and Robot Frank (alas his very disturbing site was down last time we looked but check his myspace and it's blog and become one of the lurkers who are allegedly "freaking him out")
